Some Things About Angela
Angela Lane - Director, Trainer and Consultant
Angela began her career as a Dancer and Choreographer. She is the Mother of a young adult with profound and multiple disabilities and a very personal understanding of what it is to care for a profoundly disabled child.
The second of these identities created an interesting twist to her career. Driven by a desire to ensure that her daughter has the best life possible and dissatisfaction with the services on offer, Angela uses her natural ability to collaborate to play an active role in shaping the future of services and supports for people with learning disabilities. Never passing up an opportunity, she has worked with Local Authorities, Services, Voluntary Organisations, Universities and the NHS.
Her specialties are Person Centred Approaches, Communication, Carers Issues and creative solution finding. She has trained Health and Social Care staff nationwide and provides consultation for anyone interested in improving the way we support vulnerable people.
Firstly, as a Creative Practitioner offering community building and movement workshops; and subsequently, becoming involved as a carer and representative in issues around learning disabilities, through early years, education and for the past 6 years in Adult Social Care.
I am a specialist in person centred approaches and communication and have worked alongside LDCTs in the NHS, MA and BA Degree training modules for Social Workers and National work around the development of Personalisation and Transition.
For me it always comes back to the individual and the people they trust to support them."
